Job summary

A cloud contact center software provider is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to manage large-scale storage architectures and Kubernetes platforms. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of experience in enterprise storage and a strong understanding of SDS solutions. This role allows for remote work for those outside a specific radius, with hybrid options for local candidates. Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and operate large-scale Software Defined Storage architectures across private and public cloud regions
  • Deploy and support enterprise storage platforms (Pure Storage, HPE, NetApp) and SDS solutions (Ceph, Longhorn)
  • Build and operate multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters on bare metal using SDS-backed storage
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Ansible, Terraform or Pulumi, with Python/Bash automation
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure updates, patching, upgrades, testing, and rollback
  • Build observability, alerting, and auto-remediation using GitOps and tools such as Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana
  • Architect and maintain high availability, disaster recovery, and scale-out infrastructure
  • Perform deep troubleshooting across storage, Kubernetes, hypervisors, networking, and Linux systems
  • Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate globally on change management, documentation, and operational best practices
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience managing enterprise storage and Kubernetes platforms on Linux
  • Strong hands-on experience with SDS solutions (Ceph, Longhorn) and storage migrations from legacy systems
  • Experience with block, file, and object storage, including Fibre Channel and IP-based protocols
  • Expert knowledge of Kubernetes and Linux systems (Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS)
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi)
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go
  • Deep experience with enterprise DNS (Infoblox DDI, BIND, cloud DNS platforms)
  • Experience operating 24x7 mission-critical production environments
  • Hands-on experience with hypervisors (vSphere and/or KVM)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks
  • Ability to write technical documentation and contribute to community wikis or knowledge bases
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Good understanding of overall Enterprise Common Infrastructure service implementations with a focus on SDS & Kubernetes
  • Understanding of security best practices for system patching and security compliance (e.g., CIS, NIST)
  • Background in telco, edge cloud, or large enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience and relevant industry certifications will also be considered

Work Location: This role is fully remote for candidates who reside outside the 50 mile radius of our San Ramon office. For candidates who reside within 50 miles of our San Ramon location, this role is Hybrid and would require 3 days a week (M, W, TH) in our San Ramon office.

Additionally, the total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.

All compensation and benefits are subject to the requirements and restrictions set forth in the applicable plan documents and any written agreements between the parties.

The US base salary range for this role is below.

$83,800—$200,600 USD
