Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Development Engineer to lead the design and delivery of robust, scalable cloud platforms powering our travel technologies. You will architect multi-cloud and hybrid environments and automate infrastructure using Terraform, Kubernetes, and related tools to enable faster, safer feature delivery.

You will drive service mesh, CI/CD integration, and observability, ensuring high availability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 8+ years professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years infrastructure automation or container orchestration.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based infrastructure and cloud-native services in production.
• Hands-on with infrastructure-as-code, automation, and at least one public cloud provider.
• Design and support APIs, system integrations, and scalable data models.

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve secure, scalable platform capabilities across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
• Design, implement, and scale orchestration and infrastructure automation using Terraform, KubeFed, and Kubernetes ecosystem tools.
• Configure and enhance service mesh capabilities (Istio) for secure service-to-service communication.
• Drive observability, capacity planning, performance analysis, and environment tuning.
• Advance continuous delivery by automating deployments and integrating IaC into CI/CD pipelines.
• Take ownership in high-pressure operational scenarios, participate in on-call rotations, and explore AI-driven tooling.
