Trusted Shops is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design and operate scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, with a focus on IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI). The role emphasizes security, observability, FinOps, and AI-assisted engineering practices, with hybrid Cologne or remote Berlin work arrangements.

The team supports Legal Tech Services and emphasizes reliable operations, incident response, and collaboration with external hosting providers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience designing, building, and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS (e.g., ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, SQS)
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably Terraform
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation solutions, ideally with CircleCI
• Solid scripting or software development skills in Bash, TypeScript or Python
• Experience with AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools in DevOps workflows
• Experience with containerized environments using Docker and Amazon ECS
• Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability concepts (e.g. CloudWatch, Instana)
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, AWS governance, FinOps, and working with externally hosted environments
• Practical experience leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools in cloud/DevOps
• Ability to participate in incident response and on-call rotations

Join our Legal Tech Services Team, part of the Business Domain, where we build products that help online businesses stay legally compliant and protected. Our solutions provide legal texts, compliance services, and expert support that enable thousands of online shops to operate with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS.

• Contribute to the introduction, deployment, and operation of new services and infrastructure capabilities across their lifecycle.

• Build and maintain reusable Infrastructure-as-Code components with Terraform and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling, primarily based on CircleCI.

• Help establish and evolve standards for monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability to ensure reliable and efficient operations.

• Support cloud governance, AWS resource lifecycle management, cloud cost optimization (FinOps), and cloud security best practices.

• Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability concepts (e.g. CloudWatch, Instana), including troubleshooting across applications and infrastructure.

• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, AWS governance, FinOps, and experience working with externally hosted environments, complemented by practical experience leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools.
