Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Cloud Enablement team in Findlay, Ohio. The role focuses on designing and managing Azure-based cloud infrastructure, implementing Terraform IaC, and enabling containerized workloads with Docker and AKS.

The engineer will deliver reusable patterns and architectures, drive automation, and contribute to security and cost optimization across on-premises and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant cloud engineering experience.
• Experience with Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience using Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with containers, Docker and Kubernetes Service.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and manages Azure cloud infrastructure and PaaS services.
• Develops IaC solutions using Terraform to automate provisioning.
• Enables containerization with Docker and AKS for high-availability workloads.
• Delivers patterns and reference architectures to accelerate adoption.
• Supports cloud development lifecycle including planning, development, testing, QA.
• Assists with performance optimization and cost analysis for cloud components.
• Creates documentation and build/release processes; ensures security and compliance.
