Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate cloud infrastructure and data platforms for U.S. Government customers. You’ll work across AWS and OCI, with data pipelines and AI-enabled automation in a regulated, code-first environment.

The role supports remote work within the United States for the right candidate. You’ll join a senior team, own delivery from design to production support, and collaborate directly with customers in a compliant, secure setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field; 9 years’ exp; Master’s degree with 7 years’ exp.
• Security+ certification or equivalent security credentials.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Interim Secret clearance required; ability to obtain Secret clearance.
• Hands‑on cloud engineering on AWS and OCI compute, storage, networking, IAM.
• Strong infrastructure as code skills; Terraform preferred.
• Python automation and data pipelines; Bash/PowerShell.
• Experience building/operating data pipelines (batch/event-driven).
• CI/CD experience (GitLab/Jenkins); containers & Kubernetes knowledge.
• Monitoring/logging experience; CloudWatch/OCI Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Experience applying AI/LLM services to automation and data workflows.
• Solid cloud security practices and ability to document technically.
• Strong problem solving and communication; able to work with senior customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and migrate secure, highly available AWS and OCI environments.
• Architect compliant enclaves meeting government security requirements.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design, build, and operate Python data pipelines in cloud data stores.
• Apply AI/LLM services to automate operations and data workflows.
• Implement security controls; run vulnerability and config scans; track findings.
• Monitor, tune, and resolve performance, cost, and availability issues.
• Maintain designs, diagrams, assets, SOPs; train users and teammates.
