Job summary

TeamPeople in Washington, DC seeks a Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, secure, and troubleshoot cloud solutions with a focus on reliability and cost-efficiency. You will manage cloud infrastructure, implement security controls, and optimize performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires hands-on AWS experience, container orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker, scripting for automation, and a strong background in network principles and security governance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud or infrastructure engineering, incl. 2+ years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Hands-on AWS cloud platform experience including networking, security, and governance.
• Containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Scripting and automation in Python/PowerShell/Bash/Node/TypeScript.
• Experience with IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, deploy, and maintain cloud and related infrastructure.
• Advise and recommend enterprise-wide infrastructure architecture.
• Proactively suggest improvements, changes and optimizations.
• Communicate project plans with management, both technical and general audiences.
• Monitor cloud resources for performance and cost optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud and software issues.
• Build and maintain configuration for core cloud services (AWS, CloudFront, S3, SNS, SQS).
• Administer, configure and deploy containerized apps with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Write deployment, monitoring, and alerting scripts to ensure robust, highly available infra.
• Assess security threats and their impact on customer environments.
• Triage and resolve technical, workflow, and user issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cloud solutions.
• Ensure compliance with security and data protection policies.
