Job summary

Handshake seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer to shape the Agentic Infrastructure that powers our engineering teams. You will design, deploy, and evolve cloud infrastructure, codifying best practices and automating processes so developers can move quickly and safely.

This is a hands-on, architecture-forward role with impact across production and development environments. You’ll lead Terraform/Crossplane IaC, build CI/CD pipelines with Buildkite, and guide the team on Kubernetes-native architectures.

Qualifications

• Production workloads on cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) at scale.
• Terraform or Crossplane for policy-driven IaC.
• CI/CD tooling: Buildkite or GitHub Actions; GitOps with ArgoCD/Flux.

Responsibilities

• Architect and manage scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure across production and development environments.
• Define and enforce best practices for cloud deployments to ship safely and confidently.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Buildkite) and GitOps workflows with ArgoCD to streamline from commit to production.
• Own and evolve Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Crossplane, or similar tools.
• Drive platform improvements that reduce toil and increase developer velocity.
• Explore AI-driven approaches to infrastructure automation, observability, and incident response.
• Collaborate with engineering to design cloud-native systems from the ground up.
• Mentor engineers on cloud best practices and patterns.
