Job summary

The Lubrizol Corporation seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer to drive design, implementation, automation, and operation of modern cloud and hybrid infrastructures. You’ll own cloud design, governance, and cost management while hands-on coding with IaC tools across Azure and related platforms.

Responsibilities include migrating workloads, standardizing platforms, and mentoring engineers. The role combines architecture with practical execution in a hybrid onsite/remote environment in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant information technology experience, including Cloud Engineering experience.
• Demonstrated progression from execution-focused engineering responsibilities to design-oriented technical leadership.
• Experience operating cloud platforms in enterprise production environments.
• Strong knowledge of hybrid identity, networking, security fundamentals, and cloud governance principles.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation tooling, and cloud platform engineering best practices.
• Understanding of datacenter technologies including virtualization, storage, and networking.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and technical mentoring skills.

• Own cloud subscription design, identity integration, networking patterns, platform services, governance controls, and cost management practices.
• Translate architectural standards into repeatable platform implementations and lead adoption of automation-first and Infrastructure as Code approaches.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Azure Resource Manager, Bicep, Terraform, and PowerShell.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, recoverability, and operational efficiency through monitoring, alerting, telemetry, and AIOps capabilities.
• Support cloud modernization initiatives including workload migrations, application refactoring, and platform standardization efforts.
• Mentor Cloud Engineers and Associate Engineers, serve as an escalation point for complex issues, and contribute to engineering standards and reference architectures.

How You’ll Make An Impact

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving the design, implementation, automation, and operation of modern cloud and hybrid infrastructure platforms that support our Next-Generation Infrastructure strategy. You'll be responsible for how cloud platforms are built, automated, governed, and operated, while still remaining hands-on. In this role, you will:

• Exposure to Artificial Intelligence Operations (AIOps), advanced observability platforms, and emerging cloud automation technologies.
