$160,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

Role Overview

Index Engines is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in AWS and Golang to design, build, and optimize cloud-native applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in architecting and developing scalable distributed systems while contributing technical leadership within the team.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing SaaS applications in AWS.
• Deploy cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code and monitor production systems.
• Work with DevOps for the application CI/CD .
• Work as member of a Scrum team to design and develop software components that ensure system operates per requirements. Implement and unit test required software.
• Work with other Scrum team members to integrate and test software modules.
• Provide estimates for assigned tasks during release/sprint planning efforts.
• Work with QA to review test plans and support QA activities during test phases.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience building SaaS applications on cloud-based platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI, etc.
• Experience operating large, enterprise, scalable applications in cloud engineering teams.
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• High level fluency in GoLang.
• 2+ years of experience in managing cloud through Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation, etc.
• 2+ years of experience in establishing observability systems to monitor production systems.
• Proficient with the development of data structures and algorithms that are both performance oriented and able to scale to manage large datasets.
• Agile Development methodology.
• Strong Intrapersonal and teamwork skills.
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
• Enjoys working in a challenging and highly collaborative environment.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Able to accommodate the time zone differences required to work with teams in the US and Asia.
• Require minimal supervision and be able to operate in a matrixed organization.
• Desire to learn new technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering.

Preferred:

• Experience with software development using GoLang.
• Experience with Git, Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with administration of Linux environments.
• Experience with backup software/technology.
• Experience with database management systems.
• Knowledge of communication protocols.
• Familiarity with server hardware and networking.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.
