Job summary

The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design, build, and maintain secure AWS infrastructure and scalable DevOps pipelines.

You will lead the integration of new technologies with AWS, containerize applications using Docker and ECS/Fargate, and work in an agile environment while focusing on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Four years of related work experience.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure and DevOps tool sets.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure AWS infrastructure ensuring high availability and scalability.
• Lead integration and installation of new technologies with AWS and AWS integrations.
• Design and optimize DevOps pipelines with multiple quality gates and fast feedback loops.

• Act as a technical lead on various projects in an agile environment; develop KPIs and track performance.

Brief Job Overview

Design, build, and maintain secure and cost-effective cloud infrastructure on AWS ensuring high availability and scalability.

Design, architect, and lead the integration and installation of new technologies with regards to AWS and AWS integrations. Design, build and optimize DevOps pipelines including multiple quality gates and quick feedback loops. Collaborate with application development teams to transform traditional web

applications into container-based environments using Docker and AWS Elastic Container Service/Fargate.

Act as a technical lead on a variety of projects, delivering high quality, in an agile environment. Develop KPIs, establishing quantitative and qualitative metrics to track pipeline performance. Keep abreast with the rapid changes in technology and recommend suitable technology improvements. Monitor applications and troubleshoot any production issues.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and four (4) years of related work experience.

Must have four (4) years of experience with/in:

• Building AWS infrastructure and DevOpsX;
• AWS foundational services, and ECS/Fargate, RDS, ElastiCache, Code Commit, Batch, Lamda, Code
• Deploy, CloudFront, Athena, or Glue;
• CI/CD and Agile tool sets including Jira, Bitbucket Pipelines, and Jenkins;
• Linux administration and networking;
• Containerization skills using Docker;
• Maintaining infrastructure as code using Terraform;
• Programming/scripting languages, including JavaScript, Python, PHP, Java, HTML, or CSS;
• Cloud computing and integration methods; and
• Testing tools such as Sonarqube and CircleCI

Telecommuting is permitted up to two (2) days per week.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None, this is an individual contributor role.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Salary: $150,448.00/yr. Standard company benefits
