Base salary range is $145,000-$155,000

Role

Senior Cloud Engineer in Transcarent’s cloud tooling team. You will build the framework to define infrastructure as code, and build the internal cloud platform to enable other engineers to create and deploy applications and services quickly and efficiently. You will become the subject matter expert in various AWS services.

A day in the Life

• Design, develop and operate cloud infrastructure: design, build, and maintain shared AWS-based infrastructure powering company applications and services running on ECS, EKS, and Lambda platforms.

• Automate and enable self-service: develop infrastructure as code automation platform using TypeScript and Python to provision AWS resources, enabling teams to work independently and efficiently with AWS infrastructure.

• Mentor, consult and support: provide tooling, guidance, and consultation to engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers to meet standards and grow technical expertise. Work with teams across America and Europe in different time zones.

• Production data support: provide efficient support for engineering teams without production-sensitive data access.

• Ensure reliability and support: develop cloud application resiliency, participate in on-call rotations for AWS infrastructure issues, and serve as a subject matter expert for specific AWS domains.

• Embrace collaboration: actively contribute as part of a globally distributed team using agile principles for self-organization and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for

• 8+ years of relevant experience in software engineering and cloud platform development roles, including 2+ years of senior-level experience designing and implementing complex internal delivery platforms. Strong experience with distributed and cloud-based architecture and delivering features to production.

• Proficiency in AWS cloud infrastructure with a focus on serverless and containerized solutions and their orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS). Expertise in TypeScript or other static-typing languages; Python is highly desirable. Solid understanding of CloudFormation/CDK and Terraform IaC frameworks.

• Experience building infrastructure automation and integrating these solutions into CI/CD pipelines and the software development lifecycle.

• Good knowledge of Linux internals and distributions.

• Familiarity with networking, TCP/IP, load balancing, routing, CDN, DNS, HTTP, SSL, and API routing.

• Team player with strong interpersonal skills in globally distributed environments. Good communication and documentation skills, with ability to create diagrams to explain topics clearly.

• Self-driven professional with a passion for DevOps and agile practices. Willing to participate in production incident resolution with developers.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science fields such as CS, Math, CE, EE, or Physics is preferred.

Salary: $124,200-$192,500 annually

Individual compensation packages are based on factors including location, skills, experience, market demand, and internal equity. Salary is one component of Transcarent’s total package. All regular employees are eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock options.
