We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage observability solutions across AWS-based cloud infrastructure. This role ensures system reliability and visibility through best-in-class monitoring, logging, and alerting practices. You’ll collaborate across operations and compliance teams to ensure cloud workloads meet performance, security, regulatory, and cost-efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities:Design and implement health checks and probes for AWS infrastructure and applications
Define and deploy readiness/liveness probes for containers (EKS/ECS)
Write custom scripts for CloudWatch metrics and alarms
Implement alerting and remediation automation
Document monitoring strategies, configurations, and operational playbooks
Manage observability tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog)
Configure thresholds, dashboards, and system metrics
Perform root cause analysis using observability tools
Maintain inventory of licensed software (Windows, Oracle, Red Hat, SQL Server)
Conduct license audits, compliance, and reconciliation
Monitor and optimize performance of AWS services (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, ECS, EKS)
Recommend and implement resource right-sizing
Support capacity planning, disaster recovery, and performance benchmarking
Generate reports on system trends, utilization, and cost-efficiency
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
3+ years in cloud infrastructure with strong AWS expertise
Deep experience with AWS CloudWatch (logs, metrics, Synthetics), Route 53 health checks
Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or Node.js)
Familiar with CI/CD tools and container orchestration (GitHub, GitLab, Kubernetes, DevOps pipelines)
Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect Associate)
Experience with software license management and cloud cost optimization
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for Public Trust clearance
Experience with observability stacks (Grafana, OpenSearch, Datadog)
Knowledge of FinOps principles and cost-performance optimization
