The Phoenix Group is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to own the health, resilience, security, and modernization of its Azure-based enterprise infrastructure. You will design, deploy, and support scalable cloud services across IaaS and PaaS to serve a distributed retail network.

Responsibilities include optimizing resource utilization, securing hybrid connectivity, managing Entra ID, and driving automation with IaC to accelerate deployments and improve reliability.

Competenze

• 5+ years of information technology experience focusing on cloud infrastructure in Azure.
• Strong knowledge of Azure core services, Entra ID, and reference architectures.
• Understanding of cloud networking (VNets, ExpressRoute, DNS, routing).

A national retail and corporate organization is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to own the health, resilience, security, and modernization of its enterprise Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

Role Overview

The Senior Cloud Engineer will design, build, and support scalable Azure cloud infrastructure serving corporate systems and a distributed retail network. This role oversees Azure platform reliability, hybrid connectivity, identity and access management, automation, monitoring, performance, capacity planning, and cloud cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain resilient, scalable Microsoft Azure environments across Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS).
• Build, configure, and optimize Azure services including App Service, API Management, Front Door, SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Storage.
• Improve platform performance, right-size cloud resources, and coordinate upgrade and modernization planning.
• Design and support Azure networking, including Virtual Networks (VNets), subnet architecture, VNet peering, routing, and Domain Name System (DNS).
• Manage secure hybrid connectivity through ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, custom route tables, Private Endpoints, and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
• Administer and support Microsoft Entra ID identity and access capabilities, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Conditional Access.
• Partner with security and engineering teams to strengthen cloud monitoring, access controls, security standards, and infrastructure resilience.
• Develop and maintain automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to improve deployment speed, consistency, and repeatability.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure and security operations, validate resource health and availability, and analyze Azure Log Analytics and Application Insights data.
• Lead capacity planning, performance reporting, and cloud cost management using FinOps practices.
• Serve as an escalation point for operations, development, and engineering teams during infrastructure and service issues.
• Follow established change management and problem management processes to maintain a stable, secure, and reliable cloud environment.

Core Qualifications & Requirements

• 5+ years of information technology experience, including substantial hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure as an Azure Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, or comparable role.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure core services, Microsoft Entra ID, and recommended Azure reference architectures.
• Demonstrated understanding of cloud networking, including VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN, NSGs, Private Endpoints, DNS, subnetting, peering, and routing.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud automation using Terraform, PowerShell, or Azure CLI.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, strong troubleshooting ability, and the capacity to work effectively in a fast-moving team environment.
