Job summary

Skygate Advisors in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead complex cloud infrastructure engagements for enterprise clients on AWS, designing resilient architectures and delivering migrations end-to-end.

You will mentor engineers, run Well-Architected reviews, implement IaC with Terraform and AWS CDK, collaborate with client executives, and produce runbooks and post-migration documentation. This is a hybrid role with competitive compensation and generous benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years software/infrastructure engineering experience.
• 5+ years hands-on AWS experience across EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, VPC.
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with Terraform or AWS CDK for infrastructure-as-code.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (VPC, TGW, Direct Connect, VPN).
• Excellent written and verbal communication — you will present architecture to C-suite stakeholders.
