Job summary

Fisher Investments is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support our Azure-based cloud platform. You will design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure, bridging gaps between business owners and the cloud team while ensuring security and adherence to standards.

You will contribute to AI infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD processes, participating in on-call rotations and collaborating with solution architects to deliver reliable cloud services for global growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT infrastructure across cross-platform technology with Azure/AWS cloud experience.
• 5+ years building, deploying and managing IaaS and PaaS on Azure/AWS.
• 4+ years IaC experience using Terraform with reusable modules and CI/CD pipelines.
• 2+ years hands-on Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
• Knowledge of AI platforms such as Microsoft Azure AI or similar cloud AI services.
• Hands-on cloud security and governance controls implementation.
• Strong networking knowledge: DNS, routing, firewalls, private access.
• Scripting and automation of builds, workflows, and integrations.
• Linux and Windows Server administration.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure and automation tooling.
• Deploy enterprise-scale cloud resources across technology groups via code.
• Serve as liaison between business application owners and the cloud team.
• Develop, implement, and maintain scalable AI infrastructure on Cloud Platform.
• Follow security audit requirements and controls in every action.
• Implement IaC, CI/CD, tooling, and processes for automated deployments.
• Enhance deployment processes and IaC scripts for efficiency and consistency.
• Participate in peer reviews, design collaboration, and on-call rotations.
• Use configuration management tools to provide cloud-based solutions.
• Work with architects and leads to ensure standards and security controls.
• Investigate current cloud usage, risks, gaps, and remediation options.
• Provide international, 24/7 on-call support and flexible off-hours maintenance.

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to support our Cloud Platform team. The Opportunity:

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will report to the Cloud Platform Team Lead and will be responsible for supporting, implementing, and managing our Azure-based cloud infrastructure. The Azure Cloud Engineer will maintain the operational Azure cloud environment, perform infrastructure deployments and ensure the production environment is operating securely and efficiently using automation tools. You will work with Infrastructure Engineering to make sure all deployments follow standards, are compliant and secure. You will also be partnered with other cloud team members, application owners and business owners for faster delivery of resources.

The Day-to-Day:

• Design and manage scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure and automation tooling for routine operation tasks
• Deploy enterprise scaled cloud resources that can be used across technology organizations using code
• Be the contact to business application owners and build bridge between them and cloud team
• Develop, implement and maintain scalable, AI infrastructure on Cloud Platform
• Follow security audit requirements and controls in every action
• Implement and suggest strategies in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, develop tooling and associated processes for applying automated, faster, efficient, and consistent error-free deployments
• Enhance existing deployment processes and Infrastructure as Code scripts to improve automation, efficiency, and consistency
• Participate in team activities such as peer code reviews, design collaboration efforts and rotating on-call process
• Use configuration management and automated deployment tools to provide cloud-based solutions and services ensuring best practices
• Work with solution architects, tech leads and partners to confirm developed solutions align with existing standards, meet security controls and meet cloud computing best practices
• Investigate and monitor current-state cloud usage, solutions in use, risks, gaps, limitations and recommend solutions, optimizations and remediation
• Provide international and 24/7 support at on-call duties and working a flexible off-hours schedule for planned and unplanned maintenance

Your Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure cross platform technology areas, with implementing and maintaining expertise of Azure/AWS cloud services.
• 5+ years of experience building, deploying and managing IaaS and PaaS services on Microsoft Azure/AWS platform.
• 4+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, including building reusable modules, managing state, and promoting infrastructure changes through automated CI/CD pipelines.
• 2 years of hands-on experience on Kubernetes and containerized workloads
• Knowledge on AI platforms such as Microsoft Azure AI or similar cloud-based AI services
• Hands-on experience implementing Cloud security and governance controls, including Cloud Platform Policy, Defender for Cloud, secure landing zones, identity governance, secret management and compliance enforcement.
• Strong working networking knowledge (DNS, routing, firewalls, and private access)
• Scripting and automation of builds, workflows, tasks and other integration aspects
• Linux and Microsoft Windows server administration
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
• Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert cloud certification or equivalent certification

Compensation:

• $115,000 - $175,000 base salary per year in the state of WA. New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience
• Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance
