Job summary

Tulip Interfaces in Somerville, MA is seeking a senior infrastructure engineer to build automated, resilient cloud infrastructure at global scale. You will own deployment health, drive CI/CD improvements, and mentor fellow engineers.

This is a hybrid position with in-office presence 3+ days per week. Candidates must have United States citizenship due to the role’s assignments, and you will partner with product, edge/hardware, QA, and engineering teams to raise the overall reliability of Tulip’s

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of hands-on DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering experience with production cloud environments at scale.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Ansible and cloud providers (AWS and/or Azure).
• Experience mentoring engineers and developing people.
• Experience managing NoSQL and SQL databases, key/value stores, and messaging systems (AMQP, MQTT).
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Mimir, Thanos, Grafana) and strong SRE practices.
• Exposure to Go, TypeScript, Python, or Bash in infrastructure contexts.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment, health, and continuous improvement of Tulip's multi-cloud, multi-region SaaS environments.
• Design cloud architecture for availability, stability, and performance as Tulip scales globally.
• Contribute to and shape the infrastructure technical roadmap with engineering leadership.
• Own and improve Tulip's CI/CD infrastructure toward automated, hands-off delivery.
• Build automation tooling and internal systems to reduce toil and boost developer velocity.
• Define and maintain observability standards across Tulip's cloud environments.
• Proactively identify performance degradation and capacity risks; lead incident response and RCA.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers through reviews and guidance.
• Partner with application teams throughout SDLC for infra guidance and support.
• Participate in on-call rotation and scale on-call practices.
