Job summary

Granite Telecommunications is seeking a Senior Cloud DBA & Data Platform Engineer to lead hands-on DBA efforts across SQL Server, Postgres (Timescale) and Oracle in multi-cloud environments. The role focuses on performance tuning, cloud platform operations, automation, and reliability of relational and time-series data systems.

Strong Linux, scripting, and observability skills are required. The position involves on-prem, GCVE, and cloud-native platforms with opportunities to shape data

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on DBA experience across SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle, TimescaleDB.
• Deep SQL proficiency, performance tuning, and workload optimization.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and managed services.
• Solid Linux skills and scripting ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, configuration, patching, backup/restore, HA/DR, and security hardening across SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle, and TimescaleDB.
• Diagnose and tune performance using execution plans, indexing, and I/O profiling.
• Operate databases on GCP and AWS, ensure reliability and cost efficiency.
• Support cloud migrations from on prem/VM to managed cloud services.
• Provide observability via Cloud Monitoring, CloudWatch, logs, metrics, traces.
