Frey Consulting Group in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking a Staff Cloud Database Engineer/Architect to join a multidisciplinary team supporting highly classified work at Wright-Patterson AFB area. This senior, hands-on role combines enterprise database engineering, cloud architecture, performance optimization, and strategic technology evaluation to shape modernization roadmaps.

100% onsite in a secure SCIF environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher required with 8+ years in database/cloud engineering.
Active TS/SCI security clearance required on Day 1.
Experience with Oracle/OCI, AWS, Azure, or similar enterprise platforms.
Strong SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning skills.
Ability to evaluate technologies and recommend architectural directions.
Willingness to work 100% onsite in a secure SCIF.

Responsibilities

Design, manage, and optimize secure enterprise database and cloud infrastructure.
Support large-scale databases and define future architecture and tech direction.
Evaluate Oracle/OCI, AWS, Azure, and other cloud technologies for modernization.
Develop architectures for distributed data sources and classified environments.
Drive performance through query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.
Document architectures, configurations, and recommendations for customers.
