Job summary

Temporal Technologies in Seattle is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain backend functionality for highly scalable, multi-tenant services. You will own the custom persistence stack for Temporal Cloud, including a Write Ahead Log, metadata stores, multi-level caches, and tiered storage.

You will lead design discussions, mentor engineers, and partner across Server, Cloud, and DX teams to deliver end-to-end features with reliability and strong performance in a cloud

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and building highly scalable distributed systems.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, multi-threading and concurrency.
• Experience writing production-grade concurrent code in Go or Java and similar languages.
• Experience building services on AWS; Azure and GCP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design & build distributed data systems and APIs for petabyte-scale history.
• Drive reliability and performance, manage SLOs, and lead incident reviews.
• Provide technical leadership; guide roadmap epics and RFCs.
• Collaborate across Server, Cloud, and DX teams to land features end-to-end.
