GovCIO is seeking a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to support the VA Data Modernization initiative. The role focuses on designing, provisioning, and automating cloud-based data workspaces, with emphasis on Databricks, VHA Data Lake integrations, and workspace automation.

This position is fully remote within the United States. The candidate should have expertise in modern cloud tools, Databricks, and experience leading data platform teams, with strong knowledge of IAM, security configurations, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or commensurate experience).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create cloud workspaces with commonly used tools for rapid onboarding.
• Lead migration from on-premises to cloud-based solutions.
• Develop and maintain documentation for network designs, policies, and procedures.
• Automate provisioning processes for user intake, workspace creation, and core data access.
• Lead teams of data platform engineers, security teams, and analytics stakeholders for compliant operations.
• Map new users to workspace personas and configurations.
• Build and manage Databricks workspaces and catalogs to support governed access.
