Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines on cloud platforms. You will drive Lakehouse architectures, governance, and data models for BI and ML use cases, while mentoring junior engineers and partnering with data scientists on AI initiatives such as RAG and Agentic AI.

The role requires strong Python/PySpark skills, experience with Databricks and Snowflake, and a proven ability to lead in an Agile, client-facing environment in Irving, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 6–10 years of hands-on data engineering experience
• Cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data lakes/warehouses
• Strong Python, PySpark, and SQL skills
• Databricks, Snowflake, Starburst/Trino experience
• Delta Lake governance and data lineage
• Data governance and security principles
• Client engagement and mentoring junior engineers

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on cloud platforms.
• Manage Lakehouse architectures with Delta Lake and Unity Catalog governance.
• Lead data modeling for BI, analytics, and ML use cases.
• Collaborate with data scientists on AI/ML data prep including RAG and Agentic AI projects.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers in Agile environments
