Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an IT Cloud Architect to manage a multi-cloud infrastructure spanning Azure, AWS, and Google, with emphasis on security, scalability, and cost efficiency.

You will design architectures, implement IaC, CI/CD, backups, DR, and provide documentation and training. Requires 5+ years in cloud design, familiarity with Terraform, PowerShell or Python, and HIPAA/GDPR awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or IT Security preferred.
• 5+ years of cloud design and implementation experience.
• Industry certs in management/operation (e.g., Azure, AWS, Cisco, VMware) preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with scripting/programming (PowerShell, Python).
• Strong communication and documentation skills; understanding of security/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and technical needs.
• Design cloud architectures for scalability, performance, security, and compliance.
• Create detailed technical designs and diagrams for cloud solutions.
• Deploy and configure resources in Azure and AWS.
• Automate deployment and management with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
• Implement security controls and access management to protect cloud environments.
• Monitor performance, optimize resources, and scale to meet demand.
• Design high availability, backup, and disaster recovery plans.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and maintain cloud documentation.
• Provide training and guidance on cloud best practices.
