Job summary

DEFCON AI, Inc. is seeking a senior Cloud Systems Engineer to own AWS, Azure, and Microsoft 365/Entra ID across the environment. You will manage VM provisioning, network architecture, IaC, identity governance, and endpoint management with end-to-end ownership.

Experience in defense/compliance-driven settings is a strong plus. The role supports a fully remote, US-based team with standard security, auditing, and automation expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in systems administration, cloud operations, or infrastructure engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on administering AWS in production, including VM, networking, and IAM.
• 2+ years administering a Microsoft 365 tenant — Entra ID, Exchange Online, CA, licensing, lifecycle.
• Hands-on Microsoft Azure administration in a production environment.
• Automation of operational workflows using PowerShell, Bash, or Python; Terraform experience.
• Strong IAM, encryption, and network segmentation knowledge.
• Linux (RHEL/Amazon Linux) and Windows Server experience in cloud contexts.
• Experience in DoD or regulated environments and security requirements.
• Disciplined documentation habits — runbooks, SOPs, configuration records.

Responsibilities

• Administer AWS and Azure environments, VM provisioning, networking, and storage.
• Own Microsoft 365 Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and licensing end-to-end.
• Automate workflows and integrate IaC into CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain security baselines and audit-ready documentation.
• Support compliance with DoD, NIST 800-171, and related standards.
