Job summary

Origami Risk is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to lead the development and evolution of our cloud strategy for our SaaS platforms. You will design scalable, secure cloud architectures across AWS and Azure and mentor engineering teams to raise our cloud maturity.

This role offers a base pay between $140,000 and $175,000 with bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, wellness reimbursement, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of proven experience in Cloud Solution Architecture or as a senior SRE.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional expected
  • Proficiency in scripting or coding (e.g., JavaScript, .NET, SQL) for automation
  • Deep familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and modern cloud architectural patterns
  • Knowledge of serverless technologies and their use cases
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to incident analysis
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Solid knowledge of SaaS operations
  • Prior experience operating within a Public Cloud environment (AWS strongly preferred)
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Experience working in an Infrastructure as a Code (IaC) environment.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to succeed when facing ambiguity and differing levels of Operational maturation.

  • Creates and maintains comprehensive architecture documentation, including diagrams, design specifications, and best practice guidelines.
  • Provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects and engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Implements and advocates for industry-leading security practices and compliance standards within the cloud environment.
  • Safeguards sensitive data and ensures data privacy, providing peace of mind to our customers.
  • Partners with the larger Cloud Operations, SRE, Engineering teams, and the business-at-large to advance our SaaS platforms.
  • Continuously evaluates cloud technologies, services, and tools, and provide recommendations on their adoption to enhance our cloud infrastructure and capabilities.
  • Stays informed about emerging trends and best practices in cloud computing and architecture.
  • Additionally desired skills: Strong understanding of Kubernetes and other container-based architectures
  • Windows and SQL-server troubleshooting skills.

Job description

As the Senior Cloud Architect at Origami Risk, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our cloud strategy and ensuring that our SaaS products and services are built on a robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure. You will lead the development and evolution of Origami’s cloud architecture, providing highly scalable solutions to help drive and accommodate current and future growth.

Starting base pay for this role is between $140,000 and $175,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, training, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will be eligible for a bonus as well as competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, wellness reimbursement, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. We offer vacation and sick leave benefits (under a flexible time off policy in most states).
