Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking an Application Cloud Engineer to maintain and enhance AWS-based applications and infrastructure. The role collaborates with development, operations, and security teams to ensure scalability, performance, and security.

Remote, W2, contract position with on-call responsibilities in a government-facing environment. Ideal candidates bring deep AWS experience, Terraform governance, and strong Kubernetes expertise across EKS, ECS, and Lambda, with a focus on reliability,

Qualifications

• Minimum experience: 8+ years with BS/BA, 6+ with MS/MA, 3 with PhD, or 12 with HS diploma.
• Hands-on AWS experience with cloud deployment strategies.
• Proficiency with Python, Bash, YAML/JSON, Node.js, and Lambda.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• AWS certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect Associate.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage AWS infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform.
• Manage Amazon EKS including cluster provisioning, upgrades, and node groups.
• Configure EKS networking including VPC CNI, security groups for pods, and ALB/NLB ingress controllers.
• Administer Kubernetes objects including deployments, services, configmaps, secrets, and RBAC.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using CloudWatch and related observability tools.
• Containerize and deploy applications using ECS and Lambda.
