Subject: Position DescriptionJob Title: Senior ClinicianDepartment: Direct Clinical SupportPrograms: Adult and Adolescent PHP/IOPSupervisor: Clinical DirectorFLSA: Salary; ExemptDate Revised: September 2026For purposes of this position, we’re first posting internally, where the Senior Clinician role would be ~0.5 FTE and employees existing job description would be the other ~0.5 FTE, until such future time where census warrants an adjustment.Compensation increase is anticipated to be ~5-10% increase on top of current base wage.Summary of Major Functions:Oversee and implement all aspects of therapeutic/clinical care and provide psychotherapy to patients across all levels of care. In addition to direct patient care responsibilities, the Senior/Lead Clinician serves as a clinical resource for therapy services through staff training, curriculum development, professional supervision, and operational leadership support to promote program consistency, staff development, and excellence in patient care.Knowledge:Must have a basic understanding of the therapeutic process that patients experience during program hours, understand confidentiality laws, and have a strong knowledge of professional ethics. Must be able to demonstrate leadership abilities and be able to work with persons from all educational and cultural backgrounds. Must demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, independent thinking, enthusiasm, and non-judgmental attitude.Senior Clinician Duties and Responsibilities (~0.5 FTE)Serve as point person when Clinical Director is out of the office.Provide leadership presence and support for PHP / IOP programming and coordinates efforts of clinical team to provide consistent, effective day to day treatment.Assisting Clinical Director in finding coverage for groups and meals.Assisting Clinical Director in completing and sending out weekly schedule.Assisting Clinical Director in ensuring all duties, policies and procedures are carried out correctly.Provide individual therapy and POD groups when backup coverage is needed for Primary Clinicians.Provide coverage of meals, snacks, groups, check-ins/outs, etc. when backup coverage is needed for Milieu Therapists.Create effective relationships and be a liaison with other departments in creating and improving work processes.Attend and document all staffing meetings when Clinical Director is not present and monitor treatment progress of PHP/IOP patients.Phone coverage (answering the phones, transferring calls) as assigned/needed.Reasonable availability for clinical consultation/questions via phone during all program hours.Role Models appropriate compliance to all milieu tasks and adherence to policy and proceduresSupports clinical leadership in the implementation of and adherence to rules, policies, and procedures.Takes ownership, in collaboration with program director, for training of new staff.Provides supervision of pre-licensed clinicians and/or student interns in absence of Clinical Director (when appropriate).Completes quarterly chart audits on other Primary Clinicians in the absence of Clinical Director.Additional Responsibilities (~0.5 FTE)– Please see JD signed with original offer of employmentMinimum Qualifications:Master’s degree in behavioral science (social work, counseling, etc.) from an accredited university required.Provisional or clinical license in relevant discipline required (LMSW, LSCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, LCMFT, etc).Experience working individually and in groups with eating disordered clients preferred.Clinical conceptualization of the treatment of eating disorders and dual diagnosis preferred.Good oral and written communication skills required.
