Job summary

Intuitive, a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery, is seeking a Senior Clinical Research Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA to lead the design and development of new product concepts before commercial launch.

You will collaborate with engineers, physicians, interaction designers, and other stakeholders to guide product and procedure development and to drive pre-clinical and clinical studies that support technology advancement.

Qualifications

• Fluent in medical procedure terminology and anatomy.
• Experience with complex robotic systems and software algorithms.
• Background in operating room or interventional suite environments.
• Experience collaborating with physicians and collecting feedback on clinical use of the product.
• Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and spatial reasoning.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Team player with cross-disciplinary collaboration experience.
• Product development and Design Controls experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of new product concepts prior to commercial launch.
• Collaborate with engineers and physicians to translate clinical goals into user-centric designs.
• Develop and execute pre-clinical evaluation strategies and de-risking pathways.
• Lead early-stage feasibility clinical studies and pivotal trials to support regulatory strategies.
• Support regulatory documentation and submissions.
