Job description

AIR is seeking a Senior Clinical Quality Measure Developer to join AIR’s Learning, Translation, and Quality Measurement Program. We focus on advancing equitable, high-quality, affordable, patient-centered care through research, evaluation, and technical assistance, emphasizing what matters most to patients, families, clinicians, and the healthcare community.

Our work includes:

  • Ensuring safe, equitable care through quality measurement
  • Translating research evidence to promote best practices among various stakeholders
  • Promoting evidence-based care, improving patient safety, and engaging patients and families

This position allows remote work within the United States (excluding territories).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test electronic clinical quality measures using CQL, QDM, and FHIR
  • Define user requirements, design test plans, and develop testing strategies for digital quality projects
  • Lead research teams in quality measure development
  • Facilitate meetings with project teams and clients
  • Prepare technical reports and manuscripts for diverse audiences
  • Provide strategic and technical guidance in digital health and clinical informatics
  • Mentor junior staff and review their work
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, representing AIR professionally

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years in health or nursing informatics, EHR systems, or related fields
  • Experience in contract research environments
  • Proficiency with FHIR, CQL, QDM, and eCQM tools like MAT, Bonnie, MADiE
  • Experience in developing and testing electronic clinical quality measures
  • Understanding of clinical workflows and EHRs
  • Ability to interpret clinical and technical requirements and testing results
  • Knowledge of CBE requirements and rule-making processes
