Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a data-focused professional for the Surgical Services department at Burnet Campus. This full-time role emphasizes data coordination, quality improvement, and information analysis to support patient care and departmental performance.

You will lead data collection, produce monthly reports, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure timely, accurate data entry into national registries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; may require clinical license, certification or training.
• 5+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Responsibilities

• Data Coordination - Direct and coordinate all aspects of data collection, data harvest, quarterly outcomes report analysis and review; responsible for monthly statistical and analysis reporting of department data; track and trend information; produce routine quality monitoring reports.
• Quality Improvement - Supervise and coordinate quality improvement efforts, within department or larger team; apply data to facilitate quality improvement activities; identify gaps or compliance issues; support improvement initiatives with data to physicians and staff.
• Information Analysis - Utilize software for data collection and analysis; ensure timely, accurate data entry into databases; monitor security and compliance; assist with research initiatives; prepare reports and present data clearly.
• Collaboration - Establish effective working relationships with hospital departments; collaborate with interdisciplinary team to define outcome parameters; build alignment for clinical support and deliver educational material.
• Professional Inquiry - Maintain currency in field; represent the department and Cincinnati Children’s at professional levels; participate in research initiatives.
• Clinical Review - Review patient records; interview staff when concerns arise; monitor continued stay and level of care; communicate with physicians and follow up on corrective actions.
• Compliance - Review patient records for protocol adherence; ensure documentation requirements; conduct retrospective reviews and data abstraction for quality/utilization.
