Overview

The Senior RX Clinical Programs Pharmacist integrates programs developed to improve overall health outcomes with a focus on prescription drugs. The Senior RX Clinical Programs Pharmacist handles moderately complex to complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior RX Clinical Programs Pharmacist oversees medication therapy, strategy on comprehensive medication reviews, and prescription drug optimization for patients taking multiple medications. Drives health awareness with patients through Rx Education and targeted quarterly campaigns. Places outbound calls to confirm patients are taking medications and provides counseling. Begins to influence the department’s strategy and makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approaches for project components, with work performed without direction and considerable latitude in defining objectives and approaches.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee medication therapy management, comprehensive medication reviews, and prescription drug optimization for patients taking multiple medications.
  • Drive health awareness with patients through Rx education and targeted quarterly campaigns.
  • Place outbound calls to confirm medication adherence and provide counseling.
  • Contribute to the development of the department’s strategy and make decisions on moderately to highly complex issues related to project components.
  • Work with a high degree of independence, defining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD Degree
  • Active pharmacist license in the state(s) where you will practice
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to stay on schedule
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to achieve goals and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with pharmacy benefits management
  • Commercial, Medicare and/or Medicaid experience
  • Three or more years of clinical experience in managed care
  • Ability to manage end-to-end processes
  • Understanding of Humana’s business processes, systems, tools, regulations, and structure and how they interrelate to provide value for Humana members
  • Management experience and ability to lead teams
  • Program or project management experience
  • Proven success in leading teams with multiple accountabilities
  • Excellent data analysis experience with Access, SQL, and Excel
  • Lean, Six Sigma experience and/or certification
Additional Information
  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed of 25x10 (25 Mbps download x 10 Mbps upload) is required.
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space free from ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$104,000 - $143,000 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
