Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an informaticist to promote understanding, integration, and use of healthcare data to support scholarly research and business challenges. You will design and develop fit-for-purpose research datasets and analytics solutions, serving as a liaison between physicians and research staff to translate data needs.

Responsibilities include refining clinical data models, supporting interoperability, and building production-grade analytic solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in nursing, informatics, health information management, or information systems.
• Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• Clinical licensure or coding certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in a clinical care setting.
• Minimum 3 years with EHR systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, Allscripts).

Responsibilities

• Combine healthcare knowledge with clinical settings to deliver value through enterprise-grade data and analytics.
• Provide SME guidance on clinical vocabularies, code sets, and interoperability.
• Develop business rules and code definitions for clinical data domains with governance.
• Collaborate with health plan, clinical, admin, and IT teams to translate data needs into analytics solutions.
• Assist design, build, and deployment of data solutions including real-time analytics, data integration, NLP, and AI/ML.
• Provide clinical process and system training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
