A leading NHS hospital in the UK is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Anaesthetics to provide perioperative care and support educational initiatives. This role offers exceptional professional development opportunities and is ideal for those pursuing CESR certification. Interested candidates must have GMC registration and a strong background in anaesthetics.
We've been assigned by one of the best performing teaching NHS hospitals in the UK to help recruit a Senior Clinical Fellow in Anaesthetics on either a substantive or a 12-month NHS fixed-term basis.
Our client is one of the UK's largest and busiest teaching trusts, with a turnover of £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts annually, and over 15,000 staff members across the area. The trust's vision is to be BOLD: Brilliant people, outstanding care, leaders in research, innovation, and education, with diversity, equality, and inclusion at its core.
This hospital has six main theatres and six day-case theatres, providing perioperative care for general surgery, urology, gynaecology, ENT, breast, orthopaedics, trauma, ophthalmology, and bariatric surgery. Additionally, two theatres are dedicated to obstetric patients, and a new endoscopy building under construction will house two theatres for general anaesthesia procedures.
The successful appointee will join a team comprising 29 consultants, 6 associate specialists, 12 CT and SPR anaesthetists on a rotational training programme. Responsibilities include providing perioperative care for elective and emergency surgeries, supporting resident on-call rotas (covering emergencies or labour ward), and participating in educational and training programmes within the department and hospital.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional development. The trust actively supports doctors seeking CESR certification and has successfully guided colleagues through this process.
