We have an excellent career opportunity for a Senior Clinical Bioinformatics Data Scientist to join our growing team. This is a remote US-based position. If you are an expert in data engineering, analytics, and providing insights to drive business decisions, this is an ideal position for you!

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the development of data processing pipelines and business intelligence platforms for comprehensive performance monitoring and to apply statistical methods to ultimately drive exceptional quality and turn-around-time in healthcare diagnostics. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with programming (e.g., Python, Java), version control, databases (e.g., Postgres, Datomic, Snowflake, Redshift), APIs, and bioinformatics software.
  • Experience developing within cloud-based business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) and cloud computing infrastructure (e.g., AWS).
  • Proficiency in data science techniques including statistical process control, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and machine learning on laboratory and clinical data.
  • Experience with production lab environments, NGS genomics data, and bioinformatics analytical pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, security, and ethical issues in a regulated industry.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists, clinicians, engineers, and business analysts.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate technical problems, methodologies, and findings.
Essential Duties
  • Design and execute the technical roadmap for data processing infrastructure, aligning with other data engineering teams.
  • Develop business intelligence platforms for performance monitoring.
  • Lead early detection systems for trend shifts and anomalies, diagnosing their causes.
  • Lead high-impact data science projects in genomics, translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance standards are maintained.
  • Provide governance and best practices for enterprise data across teams.
  • Mentor scientists and engineers, fostering skill growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive impactful initiatives.
Education
  • Minimum of a master's degree with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Ph.D. in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering, or related field preferred.
