• Proven track record in climate policy, economics, or closely related field.
• Broad understanding of climate technologies, policies, energy systems, and decarbonization.
• Strong quantitative/analytical skills; model impacts and handle uncertain data.
• Experience leading complex, senior-level research projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for donors and policymakers.
• Collaborative mindset to develop shared research frameworks and grantmaking methodologies.
• Intellectual curiosity across a wide range of climate solutions.
• Willingness to represent findings at conferences and donor events.
• Judgment to compare funding opportunities with evidence-based reasoning.
• Advanced degree preferred; OECD innovation policy knowledge an advantage.
• Experience with energy systems or grantmaking desirable.
• Willingness to travel for offsites and retreats.
• Ability to work remotely or in hybrid; US East Coast preferred.
• Ready for rigorous screening including quantitative assessment.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze global climate interventions and strategies to assess their effectiveness and alignment with high-impact funding priorities.
• Lead complex research projects independently, from defining research questions to delivering conclusions.
• Evaluate theories of change, including climate innovation and decarbonization strategies, using literature reviews and modeling.
• Assess grantmaking opportunities and estimate impact, cost-effectiveness, and contribution to outcomes.
• Use quantitative decision-support tools to model impacts and uncertainties, even with incomplete data.
• Conduct investigations into climate policy developments and emissions trends; complete short-term assignments within a week.
• Identify gaps in climate philanthropy and highlight areas with insufficient funding.
• Develop relationships with prospective grantees, funders, policymakers, and experts.
• Represent research perspectives at international conferences, donor events, and summits.
• Communicate complex findings through reports, presentations, and donor-ready recommendations.
• Contribute to development and testing of innovative grantmaking methodologies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to resolve bottlenecks and strengthen decision-making.
• Support funding strategy development across clean energy, emerging markets, and policy.
