Job summary

AKAM is seeking a senior accounting leader in New York to manage a small team and oversee comprehensive financial reporting for condominium and property management clients.

The role emphasizes GAAP compliance, audit coordination, and collaboration with boards, managers, and external auditors. Strong communication and budgeting skills are essential for driving accurate financial planning and stakeholder confidence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA preferred.
• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience, including required public accounting experience.
• Demonstrated experience supervising a small accounting team and reviewing the work of others.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement review, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and audit coordination.
• Ability to manage multiple reporting cycles, prioritize competing deadlines, and take ownership of financial deliverables from preparation through final communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and oversee a team of 2–5 accounting professionals, establishing clear priorities, responsibilities, and deadlines.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting across the portfolio, ensuring deadlines are met and outstanding issues are addressed.
• Oversee reporting of monthly financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, ledgers, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and alignment with client reporting requirements.
• Present budgets and financial plans to boards and executives with clear rationale.
