Job summary

BBVA in New York seeks an experienced Corporate Banking professional to support relationship managers, analyze opportunities, and coordinate cross-functional teams across Debt Capital Markets, Syndications, and FX. You will prepare materials, assess new client relationships, and deliver risk-adjusted analyses for committees.

The role requires strong financial modeling, Excel/PowerPoint proficiency, and the ability to work under pressure with excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years minimum of work experience.
  • MBA preferred but not required.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with AI-enabled tools.
  • Understanding of international economics and markets, especially Spain and Latin America.
  • Reuters and Bloomberg a plus.
  • Credit Training a plus.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments and regions.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset, flexibility and willingness to support others.
  • Employment eligibility to work with BBVA in the U.S. is required; visa sponsorship will not be pursued.

Responsibilities

  • Support Relationship Managers in developing, marketing, and delivering banking products and services to corporate clients.
  • Coordinate transaction closings, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Prepare client meeting materials, background information, and call plans.
  • Research and evaluate potential new client relationships.
  • Prepare transaction summaries and risk-adjusted-return analyses for Credit Committee.
  • Analyze global relationships and gather credit facility and revenue data from BBVA subsidiaries.
  • Participate in Credit Committees with Relationship Managers.
  • Coordinate planning with Debt Capital Markets, Bank Syndications, Corporate Lending, FX, and teams in Spain and Latin America.
  • Coordinate procedures with Credit, Operational, and Legal departments.
  • Resolve financial, administrative, and operational issues with Operations, Middle Office, and Business Development.
  • Research and summarize equity analyst opinions on products, industries, countries, and economic forecasts.
  • Maintain profitability information and the CRM system for reporting.
  • Work across senior bankers, sectors, clients, and assignments in a pool structure.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders, workstreams, and competing priorities.
  • Develop industry and client knowledge and identify potential business opportunities.
