Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking a Senior Classification & Compensation Analyst at Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. This role supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of the District’s Classification & Compensation System and provides data-driven recommendations to managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and six years of relevant HR experience performing classification duties.
• Ability to write and present recommendations, justifications, or formal reports related to classification updates.
• Strong analytical and consultative approach with ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive classification and compensation analyses and benchmark against market data.
• Lead classification audits by interviewing staff and evaluating responsibilities.
• Plan and execute reviews with focus groups and update class specifications.
• Lead data collection and salary surveys to uncover insights on market competitiveness and internal equity.
• Support labor negotiations with classification and compensation information.
