Senior Claims Representative, Workers' Compensation

Role Overview

As a Senior Workers' Compensation Claim Representative, you will be at the forefront of customer service, investigating and managing claims to support individuals and businesses. The Hartford provides paid training, ongoing coaching, and development to ensure your success.

Responsibilities
  • Handle complex Workers’ Compensation claims, ensuring timely investigations, accurate financial management, and compliance with statutory guidelines.
  • Plan, recommend, and execute investigations and claim dispositions following company policies and legal requirements.
  • Manage caseloads within established performance standards.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, earning their trust and respect.
  • Manage Workers' Compensation claims effectively, utilizing your verbal and numerical reasoning skills to gather information, analyze, and make sound decisions.
  • Plan, reserve, and settle claims appropriately and timely.
  • Assess indemnity, medical, and expense exposures accurately.
  • Set reserves and resolve coverage issues efficiently.
  • Prioritize tasks, develop technical expertise, and stay current with claim loss initiatives.
  • Identify recovery opportunities, fraud indicators, and apply financial analysis techniques.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2+ years of Workers' Compensation claim handling experience.
  • State-specific certification exams and licenses as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proven high performance and achievement over your career.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • CA Self Insured License is a plus.
Additional Information
  • This role is exclusively for California residents and is remote.
  • Employment contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a State Adjuster's License within one year.
  • Reliable high-speed internet is required, with specific technical standards outlined.
Compensation

The annual base pay ranges from $63,200 to $94,800, influenced by experience and performance. Total compensation may include bonuses and incentives.
