What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Identify healthcare client exposures and provide consulting services to mitigate risks and improve operations
- Improve client claims management programs through analysis and best practice recommendations
- Conduct risk assessments and deliver reports summarizing findings and recommendations
- Advocate for clients in interactions with carriers and third-party administrators
- Collaborate with teams to execute pre and post-loss strategies and ensure compliance with reporting regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as an accredited claims professional or 5 years in safety/risk management with direct clinical experience in healthcare
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, healthcare, or a related technical field
- Strong technical understanding of healthcare exposures and claims processes
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Proficiency in computer applications and data management tools
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Additional credentials such as a registered nurse
- Familiarity with healthcare accreditations and quality standards
- Experience in managing "batch" HPL claims
- Knowledge of jurisdictional variances across the country
- Attendance at HPL insurance market meetings and symposiums
