Job summary

Strata Construction Consulting UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Contract Civil Infrastructure / Drainage Technician to support a varied UK development workload. The role is fully remote with outside IR35 status and a competitive hourly rate.

You will produce detailed drainage and external works designs using Causeway Flow and Site 3D, perform hydraulic modelling and contribute to S104/S38/S278 submissions with engineers and project teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Civil Engineering Technician or Drainage Technician.
• Strong proficiency in Causeway Flow for drainage design.
• Experience with Site 3D for external works and earthworks.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed foul and surface water drainage designs using Causeway Flow.
• Design SuDS including attenuation, swales, basins and drainage.
• Perform drainage calculations, hydraulic modelling and network design.

Contract Civil Infrastructure / Drainage Technician

£35–£40 per hour | Outside IR35 | Fully Remote (UK)

An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Contract Civil Infrastructure / Drainage Technician to support a growing workload of residential, commercial and mixed-use development projects across the UK.

This opportunity is particularly suited to a technician with strong experience in drainage design using Causeway Flow and external levels, earthworks and infrastructure design using Site 3D.

The position offers fully remote working, competitive hourly rates and the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of development infrastructure projects.

The Role

Working alongside a team of Civil Infrastructure Engineers, you will be responsible for producing detailed drainage and external works designs from initial layouts through to technical approval and construction.

• Producing detailed foul and surface water drainage designs using Causeway Flow.
• Designing Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), including attenuation systems, swales, basins and associated drainage infrastructure.
• Undertaking drainage calculations, hydraulic modelling and network design using Causeway Flow.
• Producing detailed external levels, site grading, earthworks and road designs using Site 3D.
• Preparing drainage layouts, long sections, manhole schedules and technical drawings.
• Developing detailed infrastructure designs for residential and commercial developments.
• Supporting technical submissions for S104, S38 and S278 approvals.
• Coordinating drainage networks with highways, external works, utilities and proposed site levels.
• Working closely with engineers and project teams to deliver accurate, coordinated design packages.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Civil Engineering Technician, Infrastructure Technician or Drainage Technician.
• Strong working knowledge of Causeway Flow for foul and surface water drainage design.
• Proficiency in Site 3D for external levels, earthworks and highways design.
• Experience designing drainage infrastructure and SuDS for UK development projects.
• Good understanding of drainage design standards, hydraulic modelling and technical approvals.
• Experience working on residential, commercial or mixed-use developments.
• Ability to work independently and deliver projects within a fully remote environment.
• Previous UK engineering consultancy experience.
• Candidates with hands-on experience of both Causeway Flow and Site 3D will be particularly well suited to this position.

Contract Details

Rate: £35–£40 per hour

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

Location: Fully Remote – UK

Start Date: Immediate availability preferred

Duration: Initial contract with potential for extension
