Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to support a large refinery and chemical complex in Port Arthur, Texas. The role provides technical assurance, engineering oversight, and detailed civil/structural design for capital and maintenance projects.

You will review drawings, calculations, and design packages from external firms, participate in design reviews, and develop practical solutions that meet safety and cost objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of civil/structural experience in industrial facilities.
• Active Texas Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Experience with refinery or petrochemical facilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with engineering design software.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil and structural support for capital and maintenance projects across refinery and chemical facilities.
• Review, evaluate, and approve drawings, calculations, specs, and design packages from external firms.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and technical discussions throughout all project phases.
• Develop practical engineering solutions meeting safety, reliability, and cost objectives.
• Design and evaluate structural steel systems, foundations, equipment supports, pipe racks, platforms.
• Provide field support during construction and resolve issues on site.
• Interpret geotechnical reports, topographic surveys, and crane lift plans.
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and service providers.
• Provide status updates and technical recommendations to project managers.
