Job summary

Accura Engineering in Anchorage, AK seeks a senior structural engineer for federal construction projects. You will advise on civil/structural systems, review plans, and coordinate with designers, engineers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Civil preferred.
• Current Alaska Professional Engineer license.
• At least 10 years of structural engineering on large federal projects (USACE/DoD preferred).
• NDI experience and AISC certification preferred.
• Knowledge of RF Shield and ICD 705 construction requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical expert and advisor for control of civil/structural systems and related steel and welding features for federal construction projects.
• Perform advisory, consulting and review duties involving civil/structural systems problems or non-compliance.
• Review contract documents, including plans and specifications, during design for constructability, non-compliance, issue identification and contract clarity.
• Participate in all phases of the contract modification process; assist in scopes of work for RFPs and government estimates; review contractor proposals and prepare modification documentation.
• Assist with steel and welding inspections, QA, contract administration and providing technical expertise.
• Document reviews and analyzes contractor plans and submittals for approval including progress schedules and QC programs.
• Prepare correspondence regarding contractor performance, REAs, RFIs and other technical issues.
• Prepare partial and final payment estimates including measurement of pay item quantities and verification of materials on hand.
