Job Description:

Our Parsons Centreville, VA, or Washington, DC office is now hiring a Senior Bridge Engineer to support our bridge projects in Virginia/DC region, with a desire to work on both conventional and design/build bridge programs. Join a global company that has transformed over 4,400 bridges worldwide! In this role, you will work with concrete and steel bridges, deck and superstructure rehabilitations, and have the technical expertise to deliver any other type of bridge design.

In this role, you will plan and design bridge structures to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities include developing engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, estimates, surveys, and designs. This position offers a hybrid work model based in our Centreville, VA, or Washington, DC office.

Responsibilities:

• Perform conventional and moderately complex bridge engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Lead or participate in projects or organizational teams, including acting as a discipline lead on small to medium-sized projects.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers/drafters, designers, and junior engineers.
• Commit to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of related bridge engineering design experience.
• Experience with VDOT & DDOT projects is required.
• BSc in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis is required.
• MS in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• PE licensure is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Microstation.
• Knowledge of industry-standard and specialty bridge design and analysis software.
