Job summary

Popli Design Group seeks a Project Design Engineer to lead civil/site projects across New York State within our Civil/Site Engineering Department. The role involves site design, pavements, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater, with responsibilities spanning analysis, modelling, drafting, reports, cost estimates, and site inspections.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients and agencies, and may serve as Engineer of Record under supervision.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
Minimum 6 years of demonstrated site design experience; 8-10+ preferred.
Active NYS PE License required.
CPESC, LEED AP, ENV SP certification a plus.
Experience in multi-disciplinary A/E office environments is a plus.
Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR required.

Responsibilities

Independently develop/oversee site plans, roadways, parking, utilities, grading, and drainage.
Delegate tasks to junior staff and review technical documents.
Prepare and review plans, specs, reports, and cost estimates.
Perform QA/QC on engineering work per standards.
Occasionally serve as Engineer of Record under supervision.
Coordinate with clients, staff, and agencies for permits and approvals.
Travel within New York State for design investigations and field support.
