Job summary

Popli Design Group is seeking a Project Design Engineer to join our Civil/Site Engineering Department. You will lead civil/site projects across New York State, applying your knowledge of site design, pavements, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management.

You will mentor junior staff, serve as the primary client contact, and coordinate with project stakeholders to deliver plans, specifications, and technical reports on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of site design experience; 8–10+ preferred.
• NYS Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• CPESC, LEED AP, ENV SP certification a plus.
• Previous experience working in a multidiscipline A/E office environment is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR required.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop site plans, traffic circulation, roadways, parking, utilities, and grading.
• Delegate design tasks to junior staff.
• Prepare and review plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
• Perform technical quality reviews of engineering work.
• May serve as Engineer of Record under supervision.
• Coordinate with clients and agencies for permits.
• Travel within New York State for project investigations.
