Job summary

System One seeks a Civil Engineer (Project Manager) in Knoxville, TN, for direct hire onsite. You will lead site development and infrastructure projects from proposal through construction, ensuring scope, schedule and budget adherence.

You will supervise design reviews, prepare plans and reports, coordinate with clients and agencies, and mentor junior staff while driving business development initiatives. PE licensure preferred; Bachelor's in Civil Engineering required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE licensure preferred; Master's degree helpful.
• 10+ years civil/site development experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater modeling tools.
• Experience developing project scopes, proposals, and managing projects profitably.

Responsibilities

• Manage site development and civil projects from proposal through construction.
• Lead design of site layout, grading, stormwater systems, utilities, and erosion control.
• Prepare and oversee technical reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure deliverables meet regulatory and client requirements.
• Coordinate and communicate with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies throughout all phases.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff, including support for career development planning and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on business development and strategic client growth initiatives.
