Job summary

Sunland Asphalt in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee and manage heavy civil construction projects from pre-construction through final completion.

You will lead scheduling, budgeting, and field coordination for earthwork, grading, asphalt paving, and site development, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery. Strong client relations and contract administration skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
• Extensive experience with mass grading and earthwork, asphalt paving, site development, underground utilities.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, plans, specifications, and estimating.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple civil grading and asphalt paving projects simultaneously.
• Oversee all phases of construction including planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and production goals.
• Monitor project performance, costs, labor productivity, and equipment utilization.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project profitability.
• Coordinate daily activities with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners.
• Ensure grading, paving, and utility work is completed according to plans and specifications.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance.
