Job summary

Sunland Asphalt is seeking a career-minded Project Engineer to join our Phoenix, AZ team. You will work directly with Project Managers on heavy civil construction projects and assist with scheduling, budgeting and field coordination.

The ideal candidate has a Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree and 2-5 years in civil/concrete. Proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office is required, with strong math skills and English fluency. Travel to AZ and other states may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• 2-5 years of Civil Concrete or related field experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Project Scheduling software.
• Strong mathematical skills for layout design and material requirements.
• Broad understanding of project management, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation and contract administration.
• Must be fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Manager and Superintendents to ensure resources are accurately accounted for.
• Assist Project Managers with daily duties and tasks.
• Support field crews daily assignments.
• Attend weekly production meetings and coordinate with Project Inspectors.
• Assist with Pre-Construction and Scheduling Meetings.
• Perform project cost accounting functions.
• Develop and modify work processes to ensure quality, productivity, and profitability.
