Job summary

Wilson & Company is seeking a senior civil engineer in Kansas to lead large, multi-discipline street and highway design projects. You will coordinate engineers, plan team assignments, and manage client relationships through the full project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have 20+ years of experience, PE licensure in Missouri or eligibility to obtain within 4 months, and a proven track record with state DOT projects. Experience in budgeting and cross-team collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Missouri
• 20 years’ experience in the design of streets and highways
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations for street and highway design
• Experience managing multiple team members and coordinating with engineers and technicians
• Ability to multitask and maintain close attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers, senior staff, and clients
• Experience with state DOT projects related to highways, streets, or sidewalks/trails preferred

Responsibilities

• Establish client relationships and participate in marketing, contractual, and design meetings
• Coordinate workload throughout project development and ensure documents are completed on schedule
• Track project financial aspects and adjust team work effort to keep projects on schedule
• Work with the Midwest Civil Practice Lead and/or Client Account Lead for project reviews
• Perform other duties as necessary

• Specific experience winning and executing state DOT projects related to highways, streets, or sidewalks/trails preferred
