Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• 4-10 years of substantive civil litigation experience; defense background preferred.
• Active license in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Proven track record taking and defending expert depositions and handling court appearances independently.
• Strong legal analysis, legal writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Demonstrated interest or background in civil litigation, insurance defense, or public entity work.
• Self-motivated team player who thrives in a collaborative, trial-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a robust caseload from intake through trial or resolution.
• Conduct and defend depositions of experts, key witnesses, corporate representatives, and plaintiffs.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, including MSJs and demurrers, and substantive pre-trial motions.
• Serve as first- or second-chair in trials, arbitrations, and administrative hearings.
• Direct client management, including risk evaluation and strategy development with institutional clients and insurers.
• Manage complex litigation across public entity and municipal defense, employment litigation, general and professional liability, medical malpractice and elder care, and/or appellate and business litigation.
